Warner Music Group are considered to be one of the three major players within the music industry, alongside Sony and Universal. It was founded in March 1958 in New York, originally to prevent any of Warner Bros' signed actors recording music for rival companies. Labels under WMG include Atlantic Records Group, Elektra Music Group, Rhino Entertainment, Warner Bros. Records and Parlophone Records.
