Own footage

Image
From shooting some of my own footage, I discovered a few elements I want to include as well as things to improve.  Liked: -use of filter and colouring -messages -text appearing across screen -extensive shot types  Improve: -include match cuts -have either subject or camera moving in every shot

Generic research - music videos

This video has a similar vibe to what I want to capture, especially with how the relationship was portrayed. I liked the use of messages as part of the storyline/ reflecting lyrics I thought this video had some great intertextuality at the start, and was well paced. This video has very good camerawork, and makes use of techniques such as panning. The editing at around 2 minutes is really interesting, especially what it does to the look of the video's dimension and background/foreground. Really well edited and good use of screens within screens. I really like the concept of having shots inside a photo booth and think its something I will try and include. This video reflected the lyrics as a narrative particularly well.
