NEA progress


16/9/25: I uploaded my footage to capcut and began the editing process for my video


24/9/25: I continued editing my video, including using masking to create a clone effect 


25/9/25: I continued to edit my video, including adding text. I also began to create the first page of my website, ensuring the colour scheme and fonts matched that of my video.



26/9/25: I continued to work my website, which included changing the layout and beginning my 'tour' page. I also drew some stars and used a background remover website to convert it to a png to use for my header.


3/10/25: I continued to work on my website and video, as well as starting my 30 second audio-visual element


7/10/25: I continued to edit my video, adding in text and using the tracking feature on capcut


13/10/25: I added a shop to my website and created my merch page, as well as starting the 'music' page. For my vinyl I used the website https://vinylmockup.com/v/347OXHt9dgVo8k2VXqfjnO-clear-pink .

14/10/25: I continued my merch page and added a tour poster to my tour page. I also continued my music page, including a written interview and interactive elements.



16/10/25: I changed some of the text to white so it is easier to read, and changed the cover for my 30 second audio-visual clip using a photo I made from Canva. I also added a footer with social media icons, and worked more on my music page.


17/20/25: I made a new tour poster on Canvas and edited my tour page

Media magazine article

Bandcamp and the changing music business The Media Magazine article I chose to read was titled 'Alternative music business: a case study of Bandcamp'. It begins by outlining the way new technologies have changed the way music is streamed in recent years, and how labels and artists have had to adapt to these changes. The article then goes on to discuss how the pandemic negatively affected the music business, specifically in the live events and touring sectors. Although bigger artists found ways through this, for smaller bands it was tougher to adapt to.  The dominant music streaming platforms such as Spotify have faced scrutiny in the past due to their poor handling of streaming revenues for artists. Music streaming is a billion pound business in the UK but as little as 13% of the revenue is actually paid to artists. Generic research - music videos

This video has a similar vibe to what I want to capture, especially with how the relationship was portrayed. I liked the use of messages as part of the storyline/ reflecting lyrics I thought this video had some great intertextuality at the start, and was well paced. This video has very good camerawork, and makes use of techniques such as panning. The editing at around 2 minutes is really interesting, especially what it does to the look of the video's dimension and background/foreground. Really well edited and good use of screens within screens. I really like the concept of having shots inside a photo booth and think its something I will try and include. This video reflected the lyrics as a narrative particularly well.
